English Park - Tata

The English Garden was built in 1783 by the architect Ferenc Böhm. The water from the springs (Blue Spring, Najad Spring), the natural environment and the Cseke Lake were conducive to the design of the garden. The lake was named after the owner of the Jenő Mill that operated there. In 1803, Ferenc Kazinczy also visited the English garden, and returned again in 1831, and marveled at the beautiful plane tree row. In memory of his visit, the Kazinczy bench was erected on the shore of Lake Cseke in 1964. The park can be found around Lake Cseke, but to some extent it extends over the entire city. A nature conservation area since 1955. In the 1960s, after the springs ceased to function, the Angel Spring Cave and the Mirror Spring Cave were discovered here. These are closed and not open to the general public.
